Reseachers’ Careers Beyond Academia – How to Support Alternative Career Paths

This group study visit provides an insightful look into a career path for researchers beyond academia, which is often not only an attractive option but also a necessary one. 

However, preparing researchers for alternative career paths is often not prioritized, especially at universities. So, the question is: How can researchers be better prepared and supported in exploring non-academic career options? 

This study visit will provide an opportunity for exchanging ideas, discussing best practices, and exploring challenges in supporting researchers' career development beyond academia and getting acquainted with the best practices of the LBG Career Center (e.g., Expert Internship Program) and the Univie Postdoc Career Development. You will also have a chance to participate in the Networking Event on Careers Beyond Academia, meet with relevant stakeholders from all sectors as well as researchers.
