This year’s programme will highlight:

  • The promotion and protection of scientific freedom
  • New initiatives to make research careers more attractive, sustainable, mobile, and rewarding
  • Latest policy developments supporting career stability and excellence across sectors and borders
  • Opportunities for networking and collaboration

Linked to Conference on Freedom of Scientific Research

On the 10th of December, a day before the conference on Research Careers, another conference will be co-organised with UNESCO. The Conference on Freedom of Scientific Research will take place at the same location. It will examine how research is carried out under increasing undue pressure. This programme is also hybrid, which means you can join online as well. The programme is also very diverse. It will move from personal testimonies of scientists who have faced threats, to new evidence on emerging trends, and then to an exploration on how misinformation, surveillance and AI are influencing daily work in labs and universities.

Registration for one or both conferences

The programme on both conferences can be found on the event website. Onsite registration is closed, but you can still join one or both conferences online. If you are interested, make sure to register on the 7th of December 2025 at the latest. Registration is possible via the button below.
