IMIBIC CALL FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST

PRE-DOCTORAL RESEARCHERS

PFIS contracts 2021

Reference: 010/2021

 

Aim of the call:

The IMIBIC Research group GC-13 “Metabolismo del calcio. Calcificación vascular”, led by Dr. Mariano Rodriguez Portillo, is looking for predoctoral candidates for the the "PFIS" call 2021.

PFIS Doctoral Fellowships are funded by the National Institute of Health Carlos III (ISCIII), via the Strategic Action in Health 2021 (Acción Estratégica en Salud). They offer a 4 years employment contract for pre-doctoral researchers to carry out their doctoral studies as part of the team working on a research project funded by the ISCIII. 

The selected candidate will apply for the PFIS fellowship to carry out her/his Phd studies as part of the project PI20/00660, titles "BASIC AND CLINICAL STUDIES RELATED TO THE ROLE OF MAGNESIUM ON RENAL AND CARDIAC FIBROSIS PROGRESSION", under the supervision of Dr. Mariano Rodriguez Portillo. The project aims to assess the role of Mg on the generation of renal and cardiac fibrosis and to assess the effect of hypomagnesemia on the progression of renal and cardiac fibrosis and cardio-renal syndrome. For more information on the group's recent publications in this field, please see ORCID iD: 00002-9341-0724.

Eligibility criteria:

  • The candidates must be admitted or enrolled in a PhD Program of the University of Cordoba for the academic year 2021-2022. This requirement can be accredited until the end of the redress period of the call.
  • The candidates must be in possession of the degree (master or equivalent) in biomedical or experimental sciences (eg. biotechnology, biomedicine, neuroscience, etc.)

Valued merits:

  • Academic record
  • Experience in both analytical and preclinical animal (rodents) experimentation techniques, aligned with the objectives of the project.
  • Advanced level of English (technical)
  • Training in statistics

 

Selection Process:

The process will consist of an eligibility check an evaluation of the merits of all CVs received. The best-positioned candidates may be called for a personal interview in order to evaluate more precisely their skills.
