The Department Accelerator Operation and Technology is looking for




FPGA Development Engineer (f/m/d)




Your areas of responsibilit




  • Development of FPGA-based components of accelerator diagnostics for rapid data collection, processing and distribution

  • Programming of FPGA using VHDL/Verilog or ?high level? languages (e.g. LabView, SystemGenerator)

  • Support of the development of hardware and software of diagnostic systems


    Integration of FPGAs with external components, e.g. using PCIe, GbE, JESD204B 


  • Documentation of the interfaces and support of the integration into the control system

  • Continuous improvement of accelerator diagnostics through operational use and collaboration with other internal groups of the department Accelerator Operations or the institute for Accelerator Physics

  • You have completed a Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics or comparable qualification

  • You have excellent knowledge of FPGA technology 

  • Knowledge of electronics, measurement technology and digital signal processing or practical experience in the operation of storage rings and their diagnostics and control systems would be desirable

  • You are a team player with good communication skills in German and English

  • You enjoy the challenges of implementing technical solutions for demanding applications
