How to welcome scholars at risk or refugee researchers into your institutions?

How do you welcome and integrate at-risk scholars of refugee researchers into host institutions and academic communities? In May and June there will be opportunities to learn about this topic. We would like to motivate our Service Centres to take a look at the programmes and consider participation.

Webinar - Integration of Endangered scholars: the Scholars at Risk programme

On the 7th of May, from 15.00 – 16.00 CET, the ERA Talent project team welcomes you to a webinar. During this webinar, various ways will be explored to integrate at-risk scholars into academic institutions through the ‘Scholars at Risk’ programme. Primary topics to be discussed include:

  • an overview of the ‘Scholars at Risk' programme and its objectives.
  • Best practices and strategies for integrating at-risk scholars into academic institutions.
  • Case studies highlighting successful integration efforts.

Group study visit – Welcoming refugee researchers and students at Université Clermont Auvergne

From 5 to 6 June, our colleagues form the EURAXESS Slovakia team welcome you to group study visit at Clermont Auvergne University, France. Discover innovative strategies and best practices in welcoming refugee students and researchers into academic communities. Engage in insightful discussions, network with other professionals and gain valuable insights to create inclusive environments. The study visit offers a unique opportunity to explore practical solutions such as:

  • Local programme “Couloir universitaire” (translated: University Corridor) for students.
  • National programme “PAUSE” for researchers.
  • Presentation of French language courses dedicated to exiled students (“Passerelle” Diploma).
