Who are we?
Euraxess The Netherlands is a project run by four Dutch organisations:
- Nuffic: Projectcoordinator and Bridgehead organisation
Responsible for the project coordination, the promotion of Euraxess The Netherlands and the Information provision on practical information. A helpdesk is in place for both researchers and for support staff. - Academic Transfer: Bridgehead organisation
Responsible for the Euraxess-website. - SenterNovem (EG-Liaison): Bridgehead organisation
Responsible for the connection with industry. A helpdesk is in place for questions which are related to EU-financing (Marie Curie and ERC mostly). - University of Tilburg: Mobility Centre
A helpdesk is in place for Euraxess questions.
Mission
The overall aim of Euraxess The Netherlands is to facilitate the mobility of researchers to the Netherlands by providing information and assistance on a whole array of ‘mobility issues’.
Euraxess The Netherlands provides information and assistance to two groups. Firstly to mobile researchers and their families intending to come to the Netherlands. Secondly to staff working at organizations hosting foreign researchers. These host organizations can be universities, research institutes or commercial enterprises.
We provide information
Where it proves quite difficult for foreigners to find out which bureaucratic procedures apply to them, and for researchers even more as often exceptions on the general rule apply to them, we offer clear information about what applies to foreign researchers when coming to or living in the Netherlands. Most of the information is provided via the website and the 6-yearly newsletter for researchers.
We provide a contact point
If a researcher has a question on his or her specific situation in our service centres we provide helpdesks where such questions are answered.
We provide better procedures
Through our expertise in mobility issues surrounding foreign researchers we are often invited by policy makers to provide input on improvement of procedures or legislation.

As we realise that helping you, the foreign researcher, can also be done by providing your support staff at your host institution or company with support, we also target our services to support staff.
To support staff we provide detailed information
Where many legislative procedures especially with immigration procedures, are mostly dealt with by your support staff, we provide the necessary information to them the help them with their work.
To support staff we provide a contact point
Also support staff can contact our helpdesks when they have a question about an incoming researcher.
To support staff we provide training
We provide training sessions and seminars on issues related to incoming researchers, in order to keep support staff up to date and well informed.
To support staff we provide a newsletter
To inform support staff as quickly and efficiently as possible, we sent out a newsflash when rules, regulations, procedures, forms or other relevant issues have changed.

Euraxess European wide
Euraxess is a European initiative with 33 participating countries. Each country has a Euraxess website dealing with their national situation. Furthermore with over 200 service centres in total, each participating country has its own service centres where researchers can turn to for personalised assistance.
European website
The European website is the umbrella-website which allows you to go to the national websites. However it holds a few extra features which might be interesting to you.
- It allows easy access to all the national websites.
- It contains a CV-database where researchers can upload their CV and where registered organisations can browse through them.
- It contains a job database where all the national portals upload their jobvacancies into. This allows for a huge jobvacancy database filled with research jobs.
- It contains extensive information on the Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers.
- It provides clear information on Euraxess Links: a networking tool for European researchers abroad.
